Sure treadmills have tons of benefits but what about its disadvantages. You should also consider its disadvantages and problems that treadmills have while thinking to get a treadmill to your home.
First of all electric treadmills occupy a significant space in your home, but that is not a big problem as it can be solved by using folding treadmills. Another major problem with treadmill, which is a cause of concern, is its huge cost of purchase and the money that is used for its maintenance and electricity bills, which are generally high. So you should first make sure that you will be able to afford the high treadmills allowances and up keeping charges.

Running or walking outdoors is better than running on electric treadmills in a sense that you will not get to experience the changing environment and atmosphere that outdoor runners get. The same atmosphere each day in your home that you will find while using treadmills will surely make you bored and thus will evade your interest after some time. Running outside gets you fresh, clean, cool air which is definitely better for your health. You have all options with you to change your running routes, places, but with treadmills you have to run on same moving platform each day.
Also running on motor-propelled treadmills is very easy than running outside. This can totally change your perception about actual running experience and can create difficulty when running for real like in running sports. This means you become accustomed to limited and confined space psychologically.
Many first time users don’t use treadmills properly, and thus get some serious injuries. So special care should be taken while using treadmills because one small mistake or slapdash can get you in some serious trouble or predicaments. So always take utmost care and precision while using treadmill, otherwise be ready to face some really dreadful consequences.
Then there is one more problem with treadmills and that is the somewhat loud and repetitive sounds it makes when its belt keeps slipping. It’s very frustrating and can spoil your day.
Running outside involves running on uneven surfaces , hard areas, soft areas, wet areas, slippery surfaces and other various surface conditions. Running or walking over these surfaces improves your neuromuscular organic system and enhances its capability to rectify any modifications and consequences on your muscles and joints. It’s very significant for the runners as it influences balance, power, stamina and endurance. But running on treadmills confiscate these abilities and finally affects the power, balance and stamina while running. This is one of the foremost drawbacks of treadmills.

So electric treadmills have many advantages, but at the same time it has some serious disadvantages and drawbacks which should be considered and not easily ignored. It’s no doubt that treadmills are the ultimate health equipments, but like every machine it has its own cons and drawbacks which can be tackled with proper management and use of treadmills.
